MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or other related engineering field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Civil/Transportation engineering as an Associate Engineer/Engineer-In-Training.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with the following:
- Interpreting and applying guidelines, standards and design criteria.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
- Using available applicable software packages (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with the following:
- Written and oral communications including presentations (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint).
- Completing projects within the required scheduling.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will be expected to assist our design team in designing projects in water resources and water/wastewater. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Develop, monitor, analyze, report, and revise project schedules by obtaining input from knowledge and technical sources.
- Manage and initiate the review and design of water/wastewater engineering projects.
- Manage the selection processes and administer subconsultant services, including negotiating contract terms and fees by negotiating the contract, approving the subconsultant’s products, approving payment to subconsultants, etc.
- Manage, monitor, and review contracts and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including administering change orders and estimates.
- Develop short- and long-range plans for ongoing and future projects, including estimating timelines for start-up and completion of projects.
- Develop, maintain, and improve design and construction project management procedures.
- Provide design and technical assistance to supervisory engineers, management staff, construction management staff, and EITs.
- Develop and evaluate plans, criteria, etc., for various projects and programs.
- Manage and maintain GIS databases, including data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Create and edit GIS maps and spatial data using ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
- Develop workflows and procedures for data entry, quality control, and data analysis.
- Perform spatial analysis using GIS software and tools, including HEC-RAS for flood modeling.
- Meet with project engineers to discuss designs and design changes and provide resolutions.
- Coordinate site selection analysis by engaging various subconsultants to develop reports and review recommendations with subconsultants and clients.
- May provide leadership and supervision to assigned employees or project management.
